role model

At school we were always taught that in life we should have role models. Teachers always asked who were our role models and we always used to choose famous people, especially American’s and if we chose from South Africa, it would be Mandela.  We always thought that having famous people as role models was best and was acceptable, because if you chose an unknown person than you were seen as stupid.
Now that I am grown up, I know that a role model doesn’t necessarily have to be a well-known person but can be anyone that has good leadership skills. A person who’s not perfect but sets a good example and who learns from their mistakes.
My role model is my mother, she’s not the perfect mother but she learns from her mistakes. She’s a very charismatic person and cares about other people other than herself. She’s my rock and leads a good example for me and teaches me about life.

our greatest strenghts are our greatest weaknesses

Our greatest strengths are our greatest weaknesses; I tend to believe in this statement because our strengths and weakness can vary from person to person, I would say all depending on things in life we may have experienced.
For me one of my greatest strengths and weaknesses is my ability to continuously speak my mind. I never beat about the bush; I tell a person exactly what is on my mind. It is said honesty is the best policy so it’s better to be honest then lie to a person, even though this might be the case, I need to know when to bite my tongue and when not to because what I say can often be hurtful and mean without me realising.
So it is true that our greatest strengths are our greatest weaknesses, take it from me, I know.

Feelings follow behaviour.

I really do believe that feelings follow behaviour. I believe in this statement because when I don’t like a person my behaviour around that person changes.
I say this because my mother has a friend, which I don’t like very much. From the first time I met her I never liked her, there is just something about her that I don’t like. I don’t know what it is but I just don’t feel her. Every time she comes to visit my mother my behaviour changes, and act strange around her. If I was in a happy mood then it would automatically change to being grumpy.
Sometimes we never realise the way we behave because of our feelings, but when you feel something you tend to behave in a different manner. I say that every feeling has its own behaviour.

Mother's day

 (Image taken from: sackmagazine.com)

It was Mother’s day Sunday and I am only writing this post now, I know it might be a bit late but its still mother’s month.
I love my mother and I have found a poem for her and all mother’s in the world.
The poem:
There are angels god puts on this earth
Who care for us and guide us.
You can feel their love and gentleness
As they walk through life beside us.
They do great things for us everyday
Thy whisper in our ears;
They even hold us in their hearts
When we are filled with all our fears.
They are always there to give a hug
And try to make us smile.
They treat us with respect and love,
They treat us like their child.
God blessed me with an Angel,
I’m proud to call my own.
She’s been with me throughout my
Life, been with me as I’ve grown.
She’s guided me the best she can,
She taught me like no other
And I’m thankful I’m the lucky one
Who gets to call her.......

FATHER

(image taken from:flickr.com)
I wish I could have the chance to start over with my dad. I never had the chance to tell him how much I love him and how important he is in my life. It has been five years since he has passed away but it feels like it happened yesterday. It pains me sometimes knowing that he will never come back, even though we were not that close but his the only father I had and I was the only child he had.
It hurts sometimes to hear my friends or other people talking about their fathers. Whenever I sleep at night, I always wish he could visit me in my dreams to just hold me and to tell me he loves me.  I really miss and I hope wherever he is, his also thinking about me.
I LOVE YOU DADDY!!!!!!!

It is better to practice a little than talk a lot.

I fully agree with this statement, it is better to practice a little than talk a lot. People should learn to practice what they preach, because action speaks louder than words as they say in English. This does not mean that we should not talk and use hand signals to practice what we want to say, but that talk goes with action.
People who talk a lot and have little action are politicians; they have a lot to say when campaigning but when it’s time to act they just can’t seem to deliver.  I have experienced this at University because the political parties will campaign and promise us all sorts of things but when it’s time for them to deliver they just forget about us. They will know you personally if they want to, just to gain you’re vote, but when you need them they will act as if they don’t you.
I prefer action than words because sometimes people talk just for the sake of talking. My mother likes to talk about things I should not do but instead she does them, she would say I must inform her if I’m going somewhere but she does not do what she wants me to do. I believe that she should show me how it’s done before I can do it.

wedding cake in the middle of the road

Wedding cake in the middle of the road, laugh out loud; what was is it doing there in the first place. It had fallen out of a baker’s truck and he didn’t even notice it had fallen.
(image taken from: abiolad.blogspot.com)
I feel sorry for the groom and bride because now their perfect wedding will be cake less. They can never have their beautiful wedding cake that they had paid for and their day will be ruined and not so perfect anymore. When I saw that messed up cake in the middle of the road, all I could think about was eating that scrumptious looking white and gold cake. It was a dark chocolate cake, which is my favourite.
I just wanted to run and pick up a piece but could not get myself in doing that because it was not the right thing to do and it was lying on the road and not  on a plate at home. The cake caused chaos on the road, because cars had to pass it and nobody had the guts to pick it up and throw it in the bin, so that the road can go back to normal. People passing by were also fascinated by this wedding cake in the middle of the road.
Always watch out for a wedding cake in the middle of the road, it might turn out to be a new trend...#chuckles#
